Thanks to GamePolitics.com we are now privy to the knowledge that Bill O’Reilly thinks that PS3, Xbox and iPod use contributes to the downfall of the United States.

If the overblown FOX hack lunatic had any credibility to lose, he lost it with this:

I don’t own an iPod. I would never wear an iPod… If this is your primary focus in life - the machines… it’s going to have a staggeringly negative effect, all of this, for America… did you ever talk to these computer geeks? I mean, can you carry on a conversation with them? …I really fear for the United States because, believe me, the jihadists? They’re not playing the video games. They’re killing real people over there.

Note to O’Reilly: your premium content pay site offers podcasts for download.

Yah, Blaming the “decline” of our materialist culture on technology and it’s creators is just plain backward, literally. One could say the same about cars, books, or any invention that captivates an audience. Yeah, plenty of kids like some of my friends are zoning and being anti-social with their overabundance of gadgetjoy, but it’s not the inventors’ fault, it’s the fact that kids aren’t disciplined(harsh word!) enough to make good decisions. I have several “Machines of Destruction”; an ibook, a portable cd player and soon a PMP. And I confess sometimes I go overboard, but for the most part I make an attempt to use these tools/toys at appropriate times and also make an effort to converse with not only my peers, but adults and younger children as well. Yes there is an issue, O’Reilly, but it’s not the electronics, it’s with the people.

Oh, they’re not playing video games over their because their fanatical views have kept them from adopting methods that will boost their economy and allow them to afford xboxes. And a ton of other reasons, but this is a blog, not a book, and I’ve said enough already.
