I gave up on Boxee after about 3 weeks, about a year ago. Man that interface was slow. Slow slow. Looking back, I can’t say I understand the hoopla over it. It was very immature, and in fact was in Alpha. Might still be.

The Verdict
Boxee Still Alpha
Boxee is still in alpha (for a few more days, then beta by signup), and it’s still pretty slow. The interface speed and design has improved considerably — from hellish to “ok”, but streaming Hulu content is choppy and unwatchable.
XBMC is Very Nice, but No Streaming TV
XBMC is fast and very pretty, but sadly doesn’t stream television shows from non-local sources like Hulu.
