That should help. I had a site up with just an image, a mailto link and that's it. Had a google page rank of 5 :)

Not even any text on the page. Just goes to show you how important linking-to is.

I stick around because I refuse to let the @sshats get the best of me. So...no, not everyone likes the flaming. If you're trying to say that everyone here likes the flaming, that would obviously include you because if you didn't like it, you wouldn't ever bother reading anything over here, nor comm...

That not everyone likes the flaming. If you don't like it, why do you stick around?

My suggestion would be to create an articles section of some sort. Get some stuff that's worth some big mac sites linking to.

Thankless job, isn't it matt. And steph, I have spent some time here but I have to disagree and say that the bulk of the threads do go south pretty quickly. It's the nature of the beast. Something I don't think DM handled very well. There are quite a few people here who's posts I've enjoyed both her...

you emailed me, but I'll reply here. are you familiar with DHCP? most all people on the internet get the IP address via DHCP. this means it comes pretty much randomly. more advanced users know how to release and renew the IP, so they can get another. this way, if their IP is blocked somewhere, they ...

if your IP is blocked, that means The Man smacked you down - not some mod.

I don't know if I've ever seen a political thread on that forum, not turn south within a half dozen posts. since 9.11 anyway.

ic, just hit command+d. that will save the dialog box as you leave it, and close it.

This might seal it for me: The big unwieldy search dialog is painful to use in 6.5. heh, that's one of my favorite parts of BBEdit. I actually wish it was more complex. I've been using the demo for several days, editing html & css via FTP (though over interarchy.) The workspaces and tabs are really...

matt, did you get your wristbands? I got there a little bit later and they were out. there wasn't a very good lineup this year. ended up over at the backyard stage, watching these completely baked people try to stack rocks as some sort of "peace of prayer." the highlight came when a woman trying to ...

If you study the Bible very much, you'd be around people disagreeing about what the Bible means, sometimes in civil ways. However, if you can't even admit that, it's obvious that you yourself aren't debating anything, it's only a rote exercise. Hmmm. Not sure why you're thinking I somehow think peo...

One thing obvious here is that a book that is so easily mistranslated, misinterpeted, and plain unclear shows how problematic it is to use it as a rulebook. Anything of which someone has little knowledge of can easily be mistranslated, misinterpreted and unclear. If one studies the Bible very much,...

Can you be more specific?
What was it, 200 pages of the weapon inspectors' report that the US removed?

This all assumes you understand the terms of ending the Gulf War and the US media reports on the weapons inspectors.

Knowing the US public never heard at least some of what went on there, it's strange people would be passing judgment on how Iraq handled appeasement.

Too many contradictions for me, like killing Adam and Eve for eating fruit, but letting the devil live eventhough he started a revolution. My understanding of this is: God gave them a commandment which they didn't follow. The devil lives because, without his draw to evil, we would have no choice be...

Either you missed the point or chose to ignore it. Here is a book called the bible which means book, written by a bunch of folks who's stories all interconnect and weave. Here too is a book, written by a christian bloke who has imbraced the contradictions that are inherent to it. Give two men the s...

So are you saying that the Old Testament is inferior, obsolete, and to be tossed in the rubbish bin? Then why is it part of thee Bible? My guess would be it's part of the Bible because there is much of the new testament which uses, for lack of a better term, jargon which is defined in the old testa...
