Re: The New Mac Display

Yeah, only with the Macbook. I was wondering why it was hooked up to the laptop. The ability to hook up more than one monitor to one connection is interesting.

The New Mac Display

I didn't even know they had a new one out. I was picking up a tower from the Fashion Valley store(video card replaced), and saw it there. I don't check the Macworld site as much as I used to, and was wondering when Apple was going to update their 23" display that's a little long in the tooth. It's a...

Would digital look better?
With digital you get to see more OS eye candy like the widgets ripple when they're closed. I'm using analog with my O8 tower-no eye candy.

I got the photo from "rangefinderforum.com". They have a TLR forum there. How old do you think those alabaster beauties are? 19? 20?

My First MFin' MF

I got the first roll and only roll from my Autocord back today. I had it developed, no prints, just a CD. I was surprised at the detail, not to mention that they came out at all because I was just guessing at the settings since I didn't have a light meter. I know a 120 neg would have more detail tha...

Supply and demand. I guess the bidders on eBay live in less hip areas. I feel much better now. There's a lot of hype about them on the 'net.

Re: I Feel Like I Stole It!!

Just trying to add some suspense. This is what I bought for $25 today. This is one of the Autocords without a meter; I think it's from 1965, which is near the end of it's production. I shot a roll of B&W right after getting it by just guessing although my knowledge of such is limited. Coming home w...

I Feel Like I Stole It!!

I was at a thrift shop yesterday. I noticed something behind the counter. I asked about it and was told that it wasn't ready to be put out because he was going to do some research to determine a good price. I went home and researched it on the web, and looked at what it was going for on eBay. Today ...

Re: New Apple purchases: putting them off?

That new 24" LED job just isn't going to cut it at 900 freakin dollars. Five hundred, maybe. Nine? No way. I would love to only pay $400 for a monitor that's good for print work, but I know that isn't going to happen. NEC and Eizo don't seem to have trouble getting people to pay more than even Appl...

Check back say in ten years.
Agreed.

One of the many things keeping me from buying an Apple monitor is thinking how they haven't been updated in years.

Re: LCD Displays for Designers? -When you can't have a tube

The best LCDs use IPS panels (Apple, Eizo, and NEC). The popular Ultrasharp line from Dell uses VA panels which can produce more color than you need, like reds that are off the chart. I'm still using a two CRT set-up, two really old CRTs. I would like to get a fab 24" LCD for the least possibl...

The roll came in a Canonet G3 17. There were about nine that came out.
I emailed the seller asking if they wanted them, but got no response.
