Re: Architecture

I believe that problem is mainly handled by the vast immigrant communities in most of the places these shots are from.
Around here english does me less good than fx portugese, as most anyone that fixes anything here is from Brazil it seems like

Re: Move a playlist to a new user?

Excellent instructions, I too appreciate it. As some of you have noticed I have managed to neglect a normally very organized part of my life, all due to the arrival of kids a few years ago. Well now I am working on getting all that back into the same order it used to be before. This has led me to so...

Re: New camera

I don't approve of the low end Nikon D40 and D40x because they don't have a motor to drive older Nikkor AF lenses. (or Sigmas, Tamrons, etc). I'd go with a D80 or even a used D70. If you're only going to use a couple of lenses, and don't care about downward compatibility, the D40 is a wonderful cam...

Re: Hard Drives and Airports

I've been made to turn on the laptop, just for the sleepy TSA employee, so he in turn could entirely ignore me and the laptop, didn't even look towards it, just mumbled in what I believe was English, "OK is good" . The other gear in the bag they didn't even bother with. That's been when leaving from...

Re: Handy Free Software - PPC and Intel

Thanks Karlos. I like the visual display of the files this program generates. Nice App, Karlos. I've used that off and on, and it's good. I still have yet to find a file comparison app that's free. One that looks for dupes, and that you can configure the criteria like same size and/or same name and/...

Re: MacBook Pro EFI Firmware update

Here is your "TPS report",

It downloads, you shut down the laptop, restart hold the button for a while it beeps and you're done. It takes a minute or two and you notice.....absolutely no difference. Cheers

Re: New camera

Thanks davester, You are absolutely right re the prefocus, I do this all the time but that is only so effective. There is still the issue of startup time and the time it takes to write the data to the card and again focus for the next shot. I also have the camera set to not preview the picture once ...

Re: Taking deep breath and changing Dual Intel iMac Hard Drive

I like his descriptions throughout the video, in particular the part where he's holding the old HD and goes "the difference between this and this, it has these..." Anyway have fun, for better effect make sure your baby gets a chance to "help" you during the job. My 2 year old recently helped me fix ...

New camera

As the headline says, I'm looking to buy a new digital camera. I currently have a few years old Canon SD500 Elph, it's a small camera that's easy to carry everywhere I go, which is why I originally bought it, but it has it's limitations, mainly it's slow as molasses. What I mean is, it both takes to...

Well then there is this little bit about this Psystar company: Readers of Gizmodo, a technology Web site, checked on the physical address listed for Psystar on the company’s Web site—a challenging task since that address listing has changed three times over the last few days. The first address f...
