Our grandkids had a spooky fun time last night... they turn 3 on Sunday, so more fun ahead.

(did I mention that I'm exhausted?)

In the early 70's I was talking about motorcycles with a guy I worked with. He said "Guzzi, I've always wanted a Guzzi." I had never heard of one. I haven't seen more than a hand full outside of a showroom.
I've only had Hondas. I've had a string of Alfas and wondered if the difference between Japanese and Italian bikes was like the difference between Japanese and Italian cars. Never had the opportunity to ride an Italian bike even tho I've lusted after the Ducatis.
I rarely see a Guzzi, and mostly it has been off my radar for 46 years. In the Sept issue of Esquire magazine some dude was drooling about How he got his style and part of it had to do with a Guzzi he had seen and then bought. Remembering the long ago Guzzi conversation I looked on craigslist and found a 2007 Moto Guzzi Griso 1100, twin cylinder, shaft drive for sale. I watched some youtube videos including this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDvldvay3es. Click any place after the 6 minute mark, listen for a minute to the reviewer start giggling, and you'll be searching your local craigslist for "Moto Guzzi Griso".
I went to the guy's shop to look at the bike and within 10 seconds, I was thinking "I want this bike!" "Sex on Wheels" is an apt description.
I put down a deposit, bought a helmet, riding suit and am waiting for the title to come back from the state.
I'm currently taking chemo drugs and some days are clearly "no bike riding today" but others are "Lets go for a ride today" Even if I find I don't have the wherewithal to ride, I'lll park it outside the kitchen window and stare at it lovingly.
