I may borrow that picture and have my son practice his perspective drawing skills with that as the object, as this is exactly what they were working on the last week or so.

I've always been a huge fan of M.C. Escher and his depiction of things, and that picture to some extent reminds me of some of Eschers work.

I agree.

Thanks. My son in the Jeep says "why are you taking a picture of the tree again? I told him he is cut off from the book royalties. :D I just returned and its freaking cold here. I need to move south. The weather liar says forty today, I hope it melts off. The deer hunt is this weekend, snow is good for that though.

Various culinary items from Manhattan and Jackson Heights, including Bangladeshi Muslim markets.

Apparently, the invasive Asian Carp from Middle American rivers is a huge hit with the Chinese and Muzzie populations. You can buy an enormous frozen Asian Carp for around $7 or so. They are selling like crazy, also popular in restaurants.

In most of the USA, Asian Carp are regarded as "junk fish" and used for animal feed or fertilizer, but hundreds of thousands of them are shipped to China and Vietnam as gourmet delicacies.

The Asian market in Sioux Falls pays $5 a carp when you bring them to them after bowfishing.

My grandmother in Coney Island would bring a large carp home.
She'd let the carp swim in the bathtub for a day or two
before preparing it.

My grandmother, in the Bronx, from Eastern Europe, did the same thing.

Got live fish and put them in the bathtub. Killed it just before she cooked it.
