Matt, I'm going to be buying some (relatively) pricey stuff from Amazon soon.

How do I make sure you get the kickback?

By the way, this is the ONLY link I use to access Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?link_code=ur2&tag=appleswitcher1-20

"Success: The link tags to a valid tag or sub-tag for your Associate ID. "

That's the one.

I just tested it to make sure they didn't pull some BS.

So like I said, this is the ONLY link I use to go to Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?link_code=ur2&tag=appleswitcher1-20

I have things on my Wish List or Shopping Cart that I put there weeks or months ago (like I said, ALWAYS using the above link to get to Amazon).

Will they STILL credit to your account? I don't have to do anything else?

(I ask because I've made some fairly large purchases in the past, but you never mention them in your “thanks for buying” posts. I want to make sure my purchases get counted.)

Hi Keef

Here it is straight from the horse's mouth:
You earn advertising fees on any qualifying items placed in a customer's Shopping Cart within 24 hours of their arrival at Amazon.com via your Associates link. However, this 24-hour window closes once the customer submits his order or reenters Amazon.com through another Associate's link. Once the window is closed, you will not earn advertising fees on any subsequent purchases. However, if the customer then returns to Amazon.com through one of your Associates links, this opens a new 24-hour window.

It is of course possible that a customer may arrive at Amazon.com via your Associates link, add an item to his Shopping Cart, and then leave Amazon.com without placing an order. As long as the item was added to the customer's Shopping Cart during this 24-hour window, you will still earn a referral fee if the order is placed before the Shopping Cart expires (usually after 90 days). The referral fee will not be credited to your Associates account until the customer has purchased the item, accepted delivery, and remitted full payment to Amazon.com.

Thanks, Matt. I suspect my problem was the part I've highlighted above. I know I've kept things in my shopping cart for months in the past...

I’m surprised it’s 90 days. They love to implement loopholes. By now I expected a number much lower.

Whenever I buy things with my code, and they’ve been in my cart for weeks, I delete the cart item and add it again after coming in on the link.

That's what I'm going to do this time.

Thanks to whomever bought

Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor, Black
and
Everstone Heavy Duty TV Wall Mount for Most 32-70 Inch with Articulating Arm Full Motion Tilt Swivel Bracket 16"

By no means are these the only items bought with the AS Link™ recently, but I did my periodic check today and yesterday's commission was an above average $31. :D

I bought a couch costing $150 more than both of those items combined two days ago.

It'll credit me when it ships. Or maybe on furniture it's when it's delivered/accepted, I don't know if it's different... just guessing.

Well, the couch arrived today. I guess we'll see if you get credited for it.

(I'm pretty sure Pillowpants thinks I got it for him.)

Man, he really loves that thing. He got up once to have dinner, then he went right back to the chair and crashed out again!
