Russia's Putin Nixes Kyoto Treaty

Post by The Løpe »

Putin has all but renounced the Kyoto Treaty according to a short piece in Wall Street Journl the other day. Putin says the treaty is likely to stunt Russian's economic growth and this he cannot accept. He said he would like to see a longer growing season in Siberia, though.

So with both the US and Russia saying no, Kyoto looks like a dead duck.

I'm glad this will be the fate of Kyoto because I believe Kyoto demands too much based upon insufficient evidence.

Let me take a few years to think this over.
