Are you sure any of these are from appleswitchers? Just look at that list. No clown porn, no books on union busting, guitar playing or asian women. No Barbie dolls or blow up dolls for that matter. Looks like a bunch of damn volvo drivers to me.

I recognize a few of those items as gifts I bought for one of the two women with whom I had sex last week.

If you click the AS link and buy the goods, it should credit my account and show up. If you scour the web for weeks, putting things in your cart, comparison shop, come back to Amazon possibly on other Amazon Associates links from random midget porn sites, do new Amazon searches, and just generally take a long time, it probably won't work.

IIRC, go from here to Amazon and put something in your cart, you have 7 days to buy it. It's tagged for AS credit. After that, the association is lost.

If you go from here to Amazon on the AS link and do anything like look at products, search, etc., then wait 24hrs+, then put something in your cart, the association is lost.

The tagging is "fragile" on purpose. They don't want to give away 4% or 6% of purchases to Associates. That's why they make lots of rules. Those rules are probably even tighter now. Last I read the fine print was ~5 years ago.

Not saying you got carried away chasing that one elusive VHS German clown porn title and messed up. Just using that above as an example.

Good to know, though you've almost certainly missed some of my items due to these rules. I put things in my shopping cart, and let them languish for weeks (if not months).

From now on, I'll delete and re-add the items before purchasing.

Curious, I ordered the Wii guitars (4 "guitars" as a matter of fact) and the Guitar Hero game (2 copies).

I got the game discs just fine, the guitars were supposedly left by FedEx by my door,
(this on the day when I left and was gone for 5 days forward,
so if they were ever even left here they weren't exactly waiting for me by the door when I got back),
anyway after a few minutes on the phone with Amazon I did get the order canceled/refunded.

My question then is, do they do "charge backs" to your account for such transactions/cancellations?
And how do you know that their list of purchases is accurate, the way I read that list above, they only account for 1 game disc and 1 guitar (or is that one as in one order quantity in the order irrelevant?) it seems like it's purely based upon them and their will/good intent right?

BTW I ain't accusing Amazon of anything, just curious of how this actually works with them. TIA

It'll come off of my account next cycle.

The numbers of items I didn't include in that list, just discrete products. Here's the products with amount:
Guitar Hero 5 Stand Alone Software 1
Wii Guitar Hero 5 Stand-Alone Guitar 3

Jimbo's White Egret Candles, Beeswax, 12 candles order he bought three of, earning me a total $3.12.

Thanks to both of you for using the link.

THX for 'splaining.

However, I say they are fudging the facts!

Now I have to doublecheck my CC statement see how many "guitar" thingys they originally charged for, and how many I got credit for. Ahhh...I have nothing better to do but chase $30-40 or whatever the things cost, just one of the things I "like" about these automated transactions, when they go wrong guess who needs to do the work to fix them.

Hell, wish I had known that before I had to explain to 'Paula' in Calcutta, about being away five days just for the sake of it...

From now on I use only that link, for everything internet related, I don't give a damn of who I bought from, let them sort it out

Matt, do you get your usual Amazon kickback on items like this? Note that it says "Sold by Austin Bazaar and Fulfilled by Amazon".

Pneumatic, high RPM & well-tuned Tire Rack link added to head post. You drive car? You buy tire.

I saved a bunch of money 2 weeks ago by buying tires at Tire Rack and having them shipped to my neighborhood service shop. A few days later I showed up with the car and they put 'em on. No middle man markup.

Nigerian plea deal for Halliburton to pay a bribe ....

Post by max »

Seriously.....
Report: Nigeria to drop charges against Cheney
Former VP and Halliburton were accused of bribery over natural gas project

LONDON — Nigeria will drop charges against former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney and Halliburton, the oil-services firm he once headed, after the company agreed to pay up to $250 million to settle a bribery case, the U.K.'s Guardian newspaper reported Wednesday.
The charges stem from a case involving millions allegedly paid in bribes to Nigerian officials by Halliburton and other firms to win a contract to build a $6 billion liquefied natural gas plant in Nigeria's oil-rich southern delta.
Nigeria's anti-corruption police, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said it met officials representing Cheney and Halliburton in London last week, according to the Guardian.

"There was a plea bargain on the part of the company to pay $250 million as finesbribes in lieu of prosecution," Femi Babafemi, a spokesman for the EFCC, told the newspaper.
Several Nigerian newspapers reported that former President George H.W. Bush and James Baker, former secretary of state, took part in the negotiations with Nigerian officials, the Guardian said.
Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit upon his hands,
hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats."
