NOW PLAYING: it’s PHOTO FRIDAY #746... II!

Post by Matt »

Sorry about the lost 10 days, guys. Ok, 11. The Lost Days Event™ is responsible for the lost #745 and the original #746.

That makes it sound like I didn't do it. Kinda like an extinction event. "Wasn't me."

Which is the truth. I didn't do it. Wasn't me.
I'm abrasive.

The dog is my mom's. The exotic cat is my son's mom's. We're watching her this weekend. The dog photos were two days before the cold driving photo.

Awww. I wish I'd had more kids. Wasn't in the cards.

Jimbo, how's your satisfaction with Nikon sensors for skintones/portraits? Didn't you mention there's a greener pasture out there?

Gay Canon sensors are good in natural light.

Nikon D850 and D5 are excellent.

Neither one will make you ten cents more money today.

I keep wanting to fire up my old Nikon D200 as it has a more "film" feel to the images. Perfect gets boring.

That photo is either via D750 or a D800.

David S, the red couch is ruined. But not from these two cats, from the two we fostered for a couple years that we handed back to the barely-thankful 20something dude in June.

Interesting. In the mid-2000s it was Fuji that was the king of skintones, according to a wedding photographer here in Denver and a bit on online research I did back then.

My photog friend with a Canon R2D2 5D Mark IV and a Sony C3PO somethingorother keeps trying to replicate film looks, like Tri-X, with $50 Photoshop filter bundles. Sigh.

Too bad about the couch, but at least that nice Wassily chair looks unscathed. And your boy looks handsome and happy. That's what really matters.

That Jacobsen chair is an early late 50s example. Probably would have been worth some money had the cats not decided to urinate, defecate, and vomit all over it during a long weekend last summer. The chair is now relegated to the garage.

David, that chair. I'll pour out a little rosé for your dead homie.

IMHO that's the thing that sucks about having nice stuff. It gets destroyed. The thing about having everyday stuff is that it blows.

Pat, the big one needs to establish alpha-ness every time they're together. So it's a day or two of occasional WWIIIs. Now they're both cool with each other, and they fight silently and within limits.
